In his unique hand blown pieces, Paul has been influenced by the color concepts of painter Mark Rothko. He has studied with a number of top glass artists including Cayn Thompson, Paul Larned, Paula Stokes, Chuck Lopez, Kait Rhodes, Laurie Kain, and Leana Quade. He also works as an assistant to glass artist Charles Friedman who is a mentor and friend.
